Calling all budding photographers ages 9-13! Learn about the fundamentals of digital photography through fun, hands-on, project-based photo activities during Scarborough Arts Doors Open event. Discover the settings on your camera, learn about composition, lighting, and how to best capture the people and places in your neighbourhood. Digital cameras and accessories provided at no extra cost.
ABOUT THE FACILITATOR
Diana Nazareth is a certified arts-based photography educator, professional lifestyle photographer and founder of Project Kids & Cameras, a social enterprise that empowers kids ages 7-14 to explore their voice and the world around them through photography, literacy, visual thinking skills and social action. Her programs are informed by extensive study of key progressive arts-based methods such a Literacy Through Photography, PhotoVoice and Visual Thinking Strategies. With this integrative and participatory approach to photography education, her programs are designed to use photography as a vehicle for self-expression and to encourage students to share their voices and stories. She received a B.A. in Communications/Photojournalism from Temple University, and her Teaching Artist Certification from The University of The Arts, Philadelphia, PA.
