Notes, meters, and phrasing. Time steps, breaks, and all the rest. Rhythm Studies explores modes and methods of creating choreography for tap dance, an often-improvisational art form. Join us as we play with musical, structural, and sonic variety to draw out the choreographic voices of local tap dance artists. Combining thoughtful artistry and sheer entertainment, the show will leave audiences with a deeper appreciation of tap dance and jazz music. Our mission is to educate the public about tap dance and related art forms. "Rhythm Studies" is our third full-length concert in Columbus. The show is supported by a project support grant from the Greater Columbus Arts Council and the City of Columbus.
