The Laser Blast Film Society and Inside Out Present:
A 10TH ANNIVERSARY SCREENING OF LANA & LILLY WACHOWSKI'S SPEED RACER AT THE ONTARIO CINESPHERE!
Spearheaded by veteran film curator and Speed Racer fanboy Peter Kuplowsky of the Toronto International Film Festival's Midnight Madness section and The Laser Blast Film Society, the screening will be co-presented with Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival, a Toronto non-profit registered charity dedicated to challenging attitudes and changing lives through the promotion, production and exhibition of LGTBQ cinema.
100% of the profits will be donated to INSIDE OUT'S re:FOCUS FUND which directly supports LGTB women, and non-binary filmmakers!The Beguiling Books + Art, Toronto’s preeminent comic art institution and the masterminds behind the Toronto Comic Arts Festival, are also supporting the screening, and will be selling indie comics, manga and art at the event. They have also helped us curate and commission local artists to illustrate original poster art inspired by SPEED RACER. Limited prints of these posters will be available at the screening. Participating artists include Andrew Barr, B. Nation, Rowan Campbell and Victor Martins.Also, SPEED RACER cosplay will be encouraged at the screening and there will be prizes awarded to those with the best costumes!
