Together with our partners, we've transformed surplus urban space into a vibrant site of urban food production and agriculture education. Meet the chickens; check out the beehive; marvel at the vegetables, the fruit trees, and the compost. Find out what it's like to produce food in the heart of the city! Tours are subject to cancellation depending on weather.
Northlands is a not-for-profit, community-service-based organization that is one of the oldest and largest agriculture societies in Canada. Founded in 1879, Northlands brings together farmers, ranchers and agriculturists to share knowledge and conduct business. Northlands recognizes that as our city's population has increased, the connection of the urban public to agriculture, the source of the food on their plates, has dramatically decreased. Northlands provides Edmonton and surrounding communities with extensive, urban-relevant youth and adult educational opportunities that bridge this gap. Northlands Urban Farm is one important example of Northlands' integrated food and agriculture focus.
