Description
Pre-Show Reception starts an hour before screening time. Q&A Talk-back with filmmakers starts immediately following screening. When The Gun Goes DownAction/Drama/Western, 34 min. USADirected by Ali EldinBrooklyn PremiereIn 1894 Darling Duke Lynch slipped the noose at Blackwater. With the help of an old man named 'Shaky' they must travel the countryside and learn how to survive before the law catches up to them. With harsh weather and bandits at their back there is much to learn when the gun goes down.Brooklyn Connection:Though most of the film was not shot in Brooklyn, the film would not be complete without it. The entire grip team, best boy, sound, and one of my strongest AD's were from Brooklyn. I think its safe to say the entire backbone of the production was born and bred in Brooklyn. They kept the wheels turning and saved time from burning. Without these men and women I could have not have done what I did. I have nothing but appreciation and respect for them, and I thank you for giving them someplace to show off all their hard work and dedication.Lake NowhereHorror, 50 min. USADirected by Christopher Phelps and Maxim Van ScoyBrooklyn PremiereFrom the vaults of the golden age of slasher films comes LAKE NOWHERE, a raucous, bloody romp which resurrects the thrill of gory midnight movies for an hour-long plunge into the depths of horror. Inspired by the dusty days of VHS, LAKE NOWHERE is preceded by original trailers & commercials, replicating the experience of watching a long lost bootleg tape. When a group of friends arrive at a desolate lakeside cabin, they are stalked and murdered by a Masked Maniac, whose lust for blood transcends our world. This age-old tale of senseless slaughter quickly spirals into the realm of supernatural horror and classic monster movies, as we learn the true power that lies within LAKE NOWHERE.LAKE NOWHERE was shot over six intense days in a remote cabin on the Great Sacandaga Lake in Upstate New York, at the base of the historic Adirondack Park, with a skeleton crew of ten people, eight actors and a dog. LAKE NOWHERE was produced almost entirely out-of-pocket, with additional funds crowd-sourced through IndieGoGo.From concept-to-screen, LAKE NOWHERE took just over one year to produce. As the project grew in scope, additional actors and crew were brought on to create the supplemental material which has become an integral part of the experience of LAKE NOWHERE.Brooklyn Connection:LAKE NOWHERE was written and produced by the Brooklyn-based production company, Ursidae Parade. Christopher Phelps, the co-director, co-writer, and editor of the film, also lives in the borough, along with many of the actors and crew. While LAKE NOWHERE was shot in Upstate New York, the supplemental material that precedes the film was shot in part in Bushwick and neighboring Ridgewood.
