This 4-course indigenous feast by the Sioux Chef will feature Native foods in "pre-contact" recipes, prepared using the traditional ways of our ancestors. The feasts will be themed to the current moon of the Anishinaabe calendar, Manidoo Giizisoons, Little Spirit Moon hosted at Sacred Heart Music Center in Duluth.A social hour and traditional music begin at 5:00 pm, with dinner served at 6:00pm. Tickets are $60 per person or $450 for a table of 8. All proceeds support campaigns to protect our land, water, and health in the face of extreme extraction.Chef Sean Sherman, aka The Sioux Chef, is an Oglala Lakota Sioux from Pine Ridge. Sean has spent the past 25 years harvesting the wisdom of our ancestors and perfecting the art of “pre-contact” Native American cuisine. He is a leader of the resurgent indigenous foods movement and is turning heads all over the globe with his revival of the old ways. He also runs the Tatanka food truck in the Twin Cities, is opening a restaurant and learning center, and is publishing a cookbook. We are honored to have him as our featured chef. Please join us to celebrate the sucker moon and this land we all love, with a succulent 4-course feast. If you are vegetarian, or if you have food allergies, that's no problem.
