The virtual gathering of the Deans & Directors Cohort spans over two sessions of 3 hours each (12:00 to 15:00 UTC) on 29 and 30 April 2020.
The institutional ticket includes access for the Dean to both events plus access for 2 additional learning partners (typically Associate Deans and Programme Directors) to the event on the 29th of April. If you have different requirements for access please contact us to discuss.
The 29 April discussion will connect participants from around the globe and enable continued sharing of learning and progress with reference to your proposals of work.
During this session we will focus on:
understanding how the Cohort works together;
building connections and relationships that sustain peer-learning (see Whole Person narratives);
sharing progress and learning gathered to date with reference to participant proposals;
gathering inspiration and insights from other participants to support you in your change efforts.
The gathering on 30 April is a Deans-only "in camera" conversation about the challenges of the decanal role and the Cohort's role going forward.
In this conversation Deans will:
share strategies and tactics that helped bring about valued change in their respective contexts and institutions;
debrief on the value of the cohort gatherings and consider improvements in efficiency and effectiveness with reference to the raison d'etre - "Deans as Agents of Change";
address the issue of impact within and beyond the cohort including how to develop in accordance with the changing and emergent requirements of Deans.
Kindly note that....
Each participant should use their own device to promote visibility and "virtual" eye contact.
We will share a more detailed agenda and dial-in details for the meetings closer to the time.
The meeting takes place on Zoom and all participants will be required to have their video conferencing enabled.
You should join the meeting from a quiet space. It is also recommended that you use headphones during the call to feedback an echo.
