2020 Kids Triathlon: Special Edition!
Go the distance while keeping the distance!
Sign your child up for the Kid’s Triathlon by reserving a swim block on Saturday, August 22nd or Sunday, August 23rd between 8-11:30 AM located at Runway 35 pool. Participants will check in at the front desk of the pool, swim the distance required by age, then exit the back gate to pick up their bag and “Tri-Card”. Participants have a week to complete the running and biking portion supervised by a parent or guardian.
On Sunday, August 30th, come by the North Green with the completed “Tri-Card” to receive a medal and have your picture taken by professional photographers. We will not be timing or awarding champions at this year’s event.
Registration: $25 Open July 22-August 14, EXTENDED TO AUGUST 20th
*No transfers allowed. No refunds will be given after August 14th.
Swim:
Come to Runway 35 pool at your designated time. Participants will check in at the front desk. Everyone must wear a mask to enter the pool area.
Only the participant and one parent will be allowed in the facility. Once checked in, the parent must immediately exit through the back gate to pick up their child’s bag and “Tri- Card.” (“Tri-Card” acts as a report card of completion for each activity. Stickers will be provided.)Staff members wearing masks will be in the pool area to assist the participants, and lifeguards will be on deck guarding the pool.
6-8 year old: 25 meter swim
9-10 year old: 50 meter swim
11-13 year old: 100 meter swim
Bike & Run:
The bike and run portion will be completed during the week with supervision by parent/guardian who will then sticker participant’s “Tri-card.” This can be completed anywhere, but feel free to use attached maps as a reference:
6-8 year old: 2.5 kilometer bike, 1 kilometer run
9-10 year old: 3.5 kilometer bike, 2 kilometer run
11 year old: 5 kilometer bike, 2 kilometer run
12-13 year old: 5 kilometer bike, 2.5 kilometer run
*Take pictures and post to social media using the hashtag #kidstri2020.
Finish:
On Sunday, August 30th, come to the North Green (49th & Valentia) with the completed “Tri-Card” to receive your medal. We will have a photo op for participants taken by professional photographers. An email with an access code for the photos will be sent to all participants later in the week.
Everyone must keep a physical distance of 6ft and wear a mask. To avoid large gatherings, please come at the designated times listed below categorized by last name:
