Description
Local Folk/Americana singer-songwriter Aimee Van Dyne hails from Brooklyn, but calls Berkshire County her home. In New York, she has performed at venues such as The Bitter End, The Living Room, and Rockwood Music Hall, where her live performances have been described as “three of the best voices in town soar(ing) through a uniquely imaginative blend of ideas.” (Lucid Culture NY) Her original songs reflect influences such as Neil Young and Lucinda Williams, but with a pop sensibility. They are characterized by strong melodies and irresistibly catchy hooks, and are “loaded with powerfully sculpted lyrics and world class harmonies” (John Hammel, HomeGrownRadioNJ)
Her newly-released CD, “Broken Love Songs” was produced by multi-instrumentalist Jim Henry (Eliza Gilkyson, Tracy Grammer) and recorded by David Chalfant of The Nields. It features a first-class team of musicians, including Jon Carroll (Mary Chapin Carpenter), Paul Kochanski (Lori McKenna), and the Berkshires’ very own Ben Kohn (Misty Blues Band).
Aimee will be joined by Berkshire locals Jim Caron on Violin, Fran Tokarz on Bass, and Sarah Mitchell and Vicki Brewster Alibozek on vocals.
