In an effort to further our mission to make dance accessible to all, we are providing a film version of our 2021 performance of The Nutcracker, free of charge to ALL Texas schools. Our goal, is for every child in San Antonio and across Texas, regardless of geographic and/or economic barriers, to experience the magic and the joy of Ballet San Antonio’s The Nutcracker.
This holiday tradition was created in 2020 as a way to bring The Nutcracker to the children who would normally attend one of our Student Matinee performances, as a way to help provide a sense of normalcy and joy during the not-so-normal holiday season. We soon realized that with our film being shared virtually, we had an amazing opportunity to reach children across Texas that may not otherwise have access to live ballet or professional fine art productions. Each year, we serve more than 100,000 school children across Texas with the goal to serve ALL school children across Texas. Each year we listen to your feedback, so this year we will be offering the film from November 18th through December 31st to give teachers and groups time to watch and enjoy the film.
Performance Length: 80 minutes
*Beginning November 18th, a private YouTube Link to the film will be shared to the email address used to register.
