Join us as we bind together our prayers for the new moon cycle, the last of the astrological year.
Elana will lead us through a process of prayer and meditation to bring forth our deepest desires for ourselves, our loved ones, humanity and the planet.
BINDING LIGHT is an art project conceived by Elana Langer, a Canadian-born, New York-trained conceptual artist who found herself drawn to Jerusalem during the fateful year of 2020, months before the pandemic’s unfolding.
The project is inspired by her own “call to prayer” that she experienced while spending time in Jerusalem and witnessing how comfortable people of all religions feel to pray openly in public spaces — without fear of ridicule or disturbance.
Binding Light took form as a creative spiritual practice during the first months of the pandemic, as a way to show support that could be visible to all, like the 7 PM NY salute was audible to all, and unifying everyone at that moment — even those who were unable or felt unsafe to march for equality and justice.
By tying together tiny scrolls in form of Mobiles and letting them blow in the wind - outside people's windows - binding light calls for personal and collective creative symbols of faith in unity and peace.
