The Black Bull Inn in Haworth, Yorkshire is famously known for its paranormal activity. The Inn dates back to the 17th century and has a rich history. It's located in the heart of Haworth, a village famous for its association with the Brontë family and their literary works.
Here's a glimpse of some of the reported ghostly encounters and history associated with this historic location:
Branwell Brontë:
Branwell Brontë, the troubled brother of the Brontë sisters, is said to be a lingering presence at the Black Bull Inn. He was a frequent patron of the pub and spent time there during his difficult years. Some claim to have seen his ghostly figure in various parts of the inn. Branwell's original chair remains at the pub and is said to be very haunted indeed.
Poltergeist Activity:
There have been reports of poltergeist-like activity, including objects moving on their own, doors opening and closing, and unexplained sounds. Some witnesses have described feeling a cold and eerie atmosphere in certain parts of the inn.
The Haunted Cellar:
The inn's cellar is rumoured to be particularly active with paranormal energy. It's been suggested that this area might have been used for more sinister activities in the past. Small teams of two's and three's will be invited to investigate the cellar!
The Graveyard:
Behind the pub is an ancient graveyard where it is estimated that over 40,000 people are buried. People have spotted a figure, dressed in old-fashioned attire wandering throughout the graves. Heavy sighs, groans and muttering have also all been reported throughout the graveyard. We will be investigating the graveyard!
