The latest edition of the BPI/ERA joint Insight Session will take place on Wed, 10th October, 4.00pm – 6.30pm, as part of the week-long build up to the first-ever National Album Day on 13th October 2018.
The popular music business forum will be held in association with analysis, data and research company MIDiA, and will be hosted by YouTube at its acclaimed YouTube Space in London’s King’s Cross,
A key aim of National Album Day is to celebrate the UK’s love of the album and to enable a national conversation around the format. This joint BPI and ERA member event will explore the importance and relevance of the album in today’s post-streaming era and will consider its continuing appeal to artists and its role in future music consumption.
A new report presented by MIDiA CEO/founder Mark Mulligan – “Long Player: Defining a role for the album in the streaming era” – will be followed by a panel discussion and presentations from record label, digital retail and artist representatives, including musician J.Willgoose Esq. of Public Service Broadcasting. Full line up to be announced in due course.
Registration commences at 3.30pm, and the event will conclude with a drinks reception around 6.30pm.
