Description
Join KCET and Tastemade on Sunday, May 5, for a FREE community screening event at The Wiltern, where we will premiere BROKEN BREAD, a new television series hosted by social activist, restaurant entrepreneur and acclaimed chef Roy Choi. In the show, Choi takes a journey through his hometown, the city of Los Angeles, exploring complex social justice issues, and meeting inspiring individuals and organizations who use food as a platform for activism and a catalyst for change.
At the event’s opening reception, Roy Choi will be joined by community organizations that include Süprmarkt LA, Beyond Meat, PopCultivate, Hank & Bean, Homeboy Industries, Dough Girl, Seeds of Hope, Chefs to End Hunger, Beyond Meat, Food Forward and Bracken’s Kitchen where they will host an interactive exploration of the power of food. Guests will be treated to the world premiere of BROKEN BREAD’s debut episode followed by a panel featuring Choi and some of the heroes highlighted in the series. Following the screening and panel, guests will enjoy an after-party with music curated by Dan the Automator. The event features a full cash bar with additional food options available for purchase from some of the city's most sought-after food trucks including Mariscos Jalisco, GD Bro Burger and Choi's Kogi BBQ Taco Truck.
