Film Screenings:
Luke Frsh is a writer and director who will be screening his directorial debut Space(s) Luke has worked with the likes of Chip, Hoodrich, Harry Pinero, Wireless and so much more. Luke will be diving deeper into his creative journey and joining us on our panel.
A1 Vanguard is a director, producer and multidimensional storyteller who will screen his short film and give insight into the creative industry and his journey as a creative on the panel.
Charles Hlangabeza, a writer-director, will screen 'Don't eat brown bread' and join the panel to discuss his short film. We have the pleasure of screening his short film and discussing his professional career as a filmmaker. The Zimbabwean-born filmmaker has had international film festival recognition and won best special effects at the prestigious Paris Short Film Festival.
Okori Lewis-Mccalla is a creative professional from Bristol, working across film, writing, and tech. His debut short film, “A Fashion Show,” was aired on BBC Four, BBC iPlayer, and BBC International, premiered at the Encounters Film Festival, and was nominated for a BUFF Award in 2020. He also received the Ben Martin Apprentice Award for Creatives in Tech for his generative art and design work.
Q&A Session:
Following the screening, engage in an insightful Q&A session with the directors and creators of the films screened. Gain exclusive behind-the-scenes insights into the creative process, industry advice, inspirations, and challenges.
Panel Discussion:
Participate in a discussion with the incredible Remel London a prominent figure from the Black British Television community, host, presenter, broadcaster and industry professional. Explore topics ranging from diversity and representation in TV/cinema to the evolving landscape of independent filmmaking, content creation, the creative industry and television in the UK. This interactive session offers a platform for the exchange of ideas and perspectives among industry professionals and enthusiasts alike. Tapping into conversations on ways you can grow your career and excel in the creative industry.
