Tens of thousands of raw troops underwent rigorous training during World War II at Yuma Proving Ground's Camp Laguna before deploying to combat fronts around the world. The training was tough and everyone lived in tents, with no electricity or air conditioning. On this tour, attendees will visit actual sites that remain today from the sprawling camp.
Tour attendees will be walking over uneven desert terrain. Everyone must wear close-toed shoes, hiking boots are suggested. Other recommendations include the wearing of a hat and bringing along a light jacket or sweater.
All tours depart from the Visitor Information Center at 8:30 a.m. and return to the same location at approximately 2:00 p.m.
