See http://mathforlove.com/julia-robinson-festival/ for information on current festival information.
The mission of the Julia Robinson Mathematics Festival is to inspire students to explore the richness and beauty of mathematics through activities that encourage collaborative, creative problem-solving.
The festival is a noncompetitive celebration of great ideas and problems in mathematics. We will have several dozen tables of rich math problems and activities led by our volunteers, who are lovers of mathematics from different disciplines, representing mathematicians, teachers, engineers, programmers, graduate students, and more.
Join us in the South Ballroom of the Husky Union Building at the University of Washington for this noncompetitive celebration of great ideas and problems in mathematics.
Parent Workshop - 1:15 - 2:45
While kids are at the festival, parents are encouraged to join us for a workshop on supporting mathematical thinking at home. Learn about:
Mathematical games to play at home
Puzzles and challenges for deeper thinking
Building a supportive environment for mathematics, regardless of your own experience
Where to find the best resource
We hope to see you there, no registration necessary! The Parent Workshop will be held in room 250 of the Husky Union Building at the University of Washington campus. Parking on campus is free after 12:00pm.
