A Panel Discussion with the Album's Collaborators Join us for a panel discussion with Kendrick Lamar's collaborators; album producer Sounwave, Beach Noise, J Lbs., Bekon, Manny Marroquin, DJ Dahi, & moderator Carl Chery about the making of Kendrick's latest album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Carl Chery Carl Chery is Creative Director, Head of Urban Music at Spotify. Previously from the Head of Artist Curation at Apple Music, Carl has been one of the most prominent figures in the streaming space when it comes to supporting rap music. Carl has been championing Kendrick since the beginning of his career. Sounwave Both from Compton, Sounwave first met Kendrick when they were 17, and has been collaborating with him since. Sounwave’s production has been featured on every Kendrick project since the beginning. He produced the Black Panther soundtrack alongside Kendrick, and is the album producer of Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. Beach Noise Beach Noise is made up of Jake Kosich, Johnny Kosich, and Matt Schaeffer. Beach Noise has been collaborating with Kendrick since good kid, m.A.A.d city. They mixed Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers and are responsible for the sonic feel of Kendrick's album. J Lbs. J Lbs is responsible for a lot of the keys we hear across the album. Keys played a big part sonically on the album, and we can thank J Lbs for that. Bekon Bekon has been working with Kendrick since 2017. On the most recent album, Bekon's production is featured on Mother I Sober, Auntie Diaries, We Cry Together, Mirror, and Father Time. Manny Marroquin One of the most talented mix engineers working today, Manny is responsible for the final mixes on Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers. DJ Dahi Another Los Angeles native, Dahi has been collaborating with Kendrick Lamar since good kid, m.A.A.d city. He is a core element of the album, and a key piece of Kendrick's sonic development.
