Former National Security Advisors John Bolton and Susan Rice will come together on Feb. 19 for the Chancellor’s Lecture Series. They will discuss the topic “Defining U.S. Global Leadership.” The discussion will be moderated by Hannah Miller, a student at Vanderbilt Law School and editor in chief of the Vanderbilt Law Review, and Ingrid Wuerth, professor of law, Helen Strong Curry Chair in International Law, and Director of the Cecil D. Branstetter Litigation and Dispute Resolution Program.
Bolton served as the National Security Advisor to President Donald Trump and gained a reputation within the administration as a strong and resolute U.S. foreign and defense policy. He also served as U.S. ambassador to the United Nations under President George W. Bush.
Rice served President Barack Obama as National Security Advisor for four years and was the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Recalling pivotal moments from her dynamic career on the front lines of American diplomacy and foreign policy, Rice recently penned the New York Times bestseller Tough Love: My Story of the Things Worth Fighting For.
