Spend this enjoyable fun event with the family and discover the land of Christmas that is hiding inside the Barracks in Castlebar. This year we are in the Old Mess Hall, which we have transformed into a wonderful, fantastical Christmas adventure for the whole family. There are 4 dates available during early December (Sat 7th , Sun 8th, Sat 14th and Sun 15th) And runs between 1pm and 6pm)
Attendees will be collected at our ticket office in Castle Street Car Park by horse and carriage and brought up to the pedestrian entrance of the barracks.
Enjoy some hot chocolate (or mulled wine for the adults) with your team of helpful elves before helping us in our workshops making decorations and decorating cookies and other activities. Take a walk through the frosty forrest, and post your letter to Santa. Relax in Mrs Clause's cosy room for story time and enjoy listening to her choir sing your favourite carols. And get a Christmas photo momento of what will be an experience to remember. Then its time to meet the main man himself, Santa Clause. And of course Santa always has gifts for everyone, young and old!! There may be some other surprises along the way.
This event is run as a fundraiser in colaboration with Castlebar Foroige, Castlebar Pantomime, Davitt College and in association with An Feileacain, a non profit association that works closely with families who have been affected by the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after birth, providing essential support.
Castlebar is an Autism Friendly town, so there are time slot specially allocation each day for those with light and sound sensitivities. (time to be confirmed
Babies under 12mths free with one parent.
Unfortunately due to the age and structure of the building, we cannot guarantee wheelchair accessiblity.
