Open source intelligence research takes advantage of the vast amounts of information contained in public databases and online sources. With the right tools, investigators can track down the answers to nearly any question, utilizing OSINT data to build an investigation.
In our intro to OSINT class, we’ll cover how to conduct an investigation about a person or business with OSINT tools including government database searches, linux command line tools, browser extensions, and investigation software like Maltego and Shodan. You’ll learn the best tools for pursuing OSINT investigations and where data about businesses and individuals lives online.
Prerequisites:
Students should bring a laptop running Windows, MacOS, or Linux. (Linux preferred). Have Python 3 ( https://www.python.org/download/releases/3.0/ ) and Maltego ( https://www.maltego.com/downloads/ ) installed before the class, if you need help with this please show up early. To stay up to date on the event and discus with fellow students we recommend that you RSVP to the meetup event: https://www.meetup.com/NullSpaceLabs/events/268431...
