Description
Pre-Show Reception starts an hour before screening time. Q&A Talk-back with filmmakers starts immediately following screening.Delivery HourDrama, 68 min. USADirected by Benjamin OrificiBrooklyn PremiereAnthony's Delivery Hour usually runs like clockwork. Not tonight. His wife went into labor 20 minutes ago. His girlfriend is threatening to leave him if he doesn't meet up. A cocaine buy goes terribly wrong. And if the Nets tank in Game 7, so will Anthony's dream to move his family out of Red Hook Housing.*Shot in real-time in 'One Continuous Take', Delivery Hour is a non-stop adrenaline ride through the streets of South Brooklyn to a Manhattan Hospital.Director's Statement:My father passed away a few years ago and he left me his 20 year old BMW convertible that he so dearly loved. However, it wasn't until this Spring, that I took the car out of storage and brought it to my Brooklyn neighborhood.I believe in making films from where I live (Brooklyn) and with set locations I can easily access. In March 2014, I was interrupted from work on an entirely different screenplay as I had to move the car for street cleaning. In between blocks, I figured out the scenario: Anthony (the lead) must be a neighborhood drug dealer making his daily deliveries in the BMW through Brooklyn and Manhattan while rushing to meet his wife who just went into labor at the hospital. In the interim, crisis upon crisis builds.I felt that the 'hour' in DELIVERY HOUR had to be in 'real-time' in one breathtaking "continuous take"... no cuts, no faking...all the moving parts had to align or the take would fail. I rehearsed extensively with the actors, but the script needed to be highly improvisational: First to keep spontaneity and freshness in the performances but also due to the fact that the running time would vary considerably each day due to car traffic, red lights, and the many intangibles that arise each day filming on the streets of New York. After several weeks of shooting one take per day, I believe we chanced upon that special 60+ minute take on September 6, 2014. Anchored by the powerful performance of our lead Actor, Christian Chase, DELIVERY HOUR packs in many surprises in just over an hour.Brooklyn Connection:Benjamin is a 20 year resident of Brooklyn.DELIVERY HOUR - TRAILER (2015) from Benjamin T.
