Description
In Canada, women represent the majority of young university graduates, but are still underrepresented in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, architecture, and traditional design disciplines. Perhaps change is on the horizon – in November 2017, the Business Development Bank of Canada committed another $20 million to its Women In Tech program total a whopping $70 million investment over five years.
"The Government of Canada is committed to supporting women entrepreneurs as they work to find the support they need to start and grow their businesses," said Honourable Bardish Chagger, Minister of Small Business and Tourism, last year.
On International Women's Day, we’re hosting a rapid-fire presentation – Doin' It For Themselves presented by Woodcliffe Landmark Properties – featuring creatives, innovators, and disruptors who discuss their products, services, and systems that are poised to change the shape of things to come.
In six minutes and 40 seconds, presenters take us through their startups, challenges, successes, and inspirations. The speakers for this program represent a progressive, innovative, and creative future. Their businesses inspire, promote change, and seek to improve lives on a global scale. And they're Canadian. The presentation will be followed by refreshments and networking.
