Georges Auguste Escoffier (1846 – 1935) was a legendary French chef, restaurateur and culinary writer known as the “king of chefs and chef of kings”. As France's preeminent chef in the early part of the 20th century, Escoffier popularized and updated traditional French cooking. The lineage of finely trained chefs can be traced to the disciplined skills and visionary techniques of Auguste Escoffier.
