We are proud to present a unique, once-in-a-lifetime live music experience in Victoria BC.
This show promises to deliver a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the night. There has
been a craving for Soulful, contemporary RnB and Afrobeats music on the Island. For this
show, we have a collection of upcoming, local musicians with an array of talent, skills, and
influences ranging from Jazz, Afrobeats, Folk, RnB, Dance, and Soul.
Hosting you for the evening are the headliners, Tk the artist, and Dilly Cooner.
Tk, the Artist is a Nigerian-born Singer/songwriter residing on the west coast of Canada. As
a drummer/singer, music has been at the core of his life from a young age. With influences
stemming from Gospel, RnB, Jazz, and neo-soul, this artist has created unique blends of
sounds and rhythms that give you the feeling of summer nights with your favorite people in
the world.
His live performances have been described as ‘soulful’, ‘emotional’, and ‘powerful’. This
artist has rocked intimate stages like Vinyl envy and Felicitas pub on Vancouver island. Also
frequently creating rhythms and melodies that left audiences dancing during summer
festivals like bands on the roof, fernfest, dragon boat festival, and many more.
Dilly Cooner is a local emerging singer/songwriter who loves to tell stories through her
music. Influenced by Folk, RnB, and Pop, she has developed a unique, smooth sound,
mesmerizing audiences whether she is crooning over guitar or piano. Audience members
have described Dilly’s live performances as ‘raw’, ‘authentic’, and ‘fun’. Whether a heartfelt
ballad or an upbeat pop song, she hopes that audiences can connect to her lyricism, finding
joy in celebrating the human experience.
Dilly has performed across Vancouver Island including venues such as the Victoria Event
Centre, Felicita’s Pub, and Sea Cider. She cannot wait to take the stage for this special
night.
TK the Artist and Dilly Cooner blend their voices and styles beautifully to create magical
live music moments that make you feel a whole range of emotions, like Joy, beauty,
wholeness, heartbreak, and most importantly, Love.
The night will begin with a performance from Musician/Vocal Coach, Shanise Brown.
Shanise’s love of music and singing began when she was 7 years old, and since then she
has been growing and blossoming into the artist she is today. She writes songs inspired by
introspection, which creates a very raw and vulnerable musical experience. Her style is also
influenced by jazz, r&b, soul, and Vancouver Island. Shanise’s message is one of love and
her purpose is to share it, with the hope to encourage others to express themselves.
Taking the stage next will be the very experienced local music talent, Wes Carroll.
Wes Carroll
Guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Wes Carroll is dedicated to reaching audiences with his
original creations. His writing whisks jazz, pop, and hip-hop into a new kind of froth. He is
inspired to write music about social justice themes, surveillance, mental health, and climate
change, and of course, writes love songs too. Wes has traveled the world, playing concerts
in the EU, the UK, Canada, and the US. In 2021, he finished a Masters in Jazz Performance
at the University of Toronto. With side-projects that include “Wes plays Wes” (a tribute to
Wes Montgomery), the WG Duo, a pop cover band, and the original hip-hop crew “Grapefruit
Is Impossible,” it is clear that when it comes to genres, Wes does not play favorites. He has
recorded four albums of original music including: “Off Pulse Quartet, Live in Holland” (2014),
and “Off Empire” (2018) – the Wes Carroll Confabulation’s debut album which peaked at #4
in!EarShot’s Canadian jazz category. Wes is currently working on a third album of all
originals with the Confabulation that is set for release in 2023.
Invite some friends, bring a date, or come alone if you want to. Let’s celebrate community,
friendship, life, love, and music as we complete a special evening under the stars.
