Description
Hello, Dear Creators of WONDER and MAGIC! I am so excited to have the opportunity to spend a bit of time with you in Michigan!
Have you been longing to take action on your dream but you haven't been?
Or maybe it's just felt so damn hard that you have been taking a breather from all of it?
Or maybe it's been feeling like something is missing...and if you had that something...things might go a bit easier?
We are going to gather, as like-minded heros and connect heart-to-heart and soul-to-soul. This is one of the most powerful things we can do when we are heroes--isolation is dangerous. We need solitude- YES but isolation- Hell NO!
In our time together, I have planned an experience that will give you an opportunity to:
1. Share your dreams out loud (this is necessary and awesome!)
2. Unlock a powerful personal story and then...
3. Discover something that's been holding you back, so that you can continue ONWARD in your own Hero's Journey...
4. Step into a ceremony to bring your intentions into focus.
I hope you will join me!
Much love and the courage of 3 honey badgers, Sarah
Please bring:
Journal and Pen
Towel or yoga mat to lie on
I will have copies of The Book of Beasties along for sale and please bring your copies of Swimming with Elephants or Born to FREAK if you would like them signed!
If you are unable to join us for the Saturday Camp events, I will also be at Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tearoom, 114 South Main St. in Ann Arbor on Friday Sept 21 from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, signing copies of the Book of Beasties and also my memoir, Swimming with Elephants!
We are delighted to welcome Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tearoom in Ann Arbor, and www.EmpowerRadio.com as event sponsors, many thanks for all your marvelous support!
ABOUT SOKOL CAMP: The Czechoslovakian family cultural organization, Sokol (*means Falcon) Detroit is the oldest existing non-profit organization operating in Michigan today. Originally established in 1865, Sokol’s emphasis has always been on health, family and physical fitness. Following the turn into the 20th Century (Detroit population 285,000) Sokol Detroit sought out and purchased 20 acres of wilderness land in Livingston County, on the southern shores of pristine Sandy Bottom Lake in Green Oak Township, located between Brighton and South Lyon. The families broke ground for a new recreation area and camp in the mid 1930’s—as legend has it, they first built the camp community center, aka “Clubroom” as a central place to gather and socialize (aka Party, Feast and play Euchre) following long days of clearing forest and building cottages, dance hall, community kitchen and other outbuildings and infrastructure.
Through the decades that followed, Sokol Camp became a summer destination for Czech families and their friends from across the region, hosting gymnastics competitions and family gatherings from May through October each year. Today, the 23 cottages that comprise the camp are no longer held exclusively by Czech families, although it is still a rare occurrence when one transfers beyond the immediate circle of friends and family. In 2018, Sokol Camp remains a beautiful, nostalgic, meticulously maintained slice of Pure Michigan!
