Description
In honour and celebration of Nelson Mandela’s centennial, House of Mandela Family Foundation, Enhle Cares Foundation and Africa Rising Foundation supported by Global Citizen and The Nozala Trust, have come together to create a platform that promotes and supports social justice, arts and culture, education and all facets of community development throughout South Africa including youth and women empowerment. As this is the inaugural Forever Young Ball & Gala Dinner the vision is a continuation of the legacy of Madiba.
“I admire young people who are concerned with the affairs of their community and nation perhaps because I also became involved in struggle whist I was still at school.” – Nelson Mandela
Madiba was the strongest protagonist for youth empowerment and leadership especially for those in rural disadvantaged communities and it is with this motivation that the Forever Young Team embarks on this annual fundraising Gala. The main objective is to increase access for the youth. It is to promote an effective youth participation in the non- profit sector and foster the philanthropic culture that was pioneered by Madiba.
“Young people are capable, when aroused, of bringing down the towers of oppression and raising the banners of freedom.” – Nelson Mandela
The Forever Young Ball & Gala Dinner will profile, young and driven leaders whose works are committed to crucial economic and social issues within communities and industries. It is a campaign of active citizenry and an invitation for like-minded individuals and organizations to partner with the Forever Young Team in its efforts to promote positive contribution to mental, emotional and physical health; community integration and capacity building; agriculture; development of entrepreneurial skills; creation of opportunities for lifelong learning; sports and leisure; and environmental protection and knowledge sharing on global warming and its effects.
“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Mandela
