ABOUT LELA AMPARO
Lela Amparo is a multidisciplinary artist from Tucson, Arizona, who currently resides in Gothenburg, Sweden. Lela's work focuses on generative art and audio. "For as long as I can remember, I've always held a deep appreciation for the outdoors and exploring remote destinations. Coupled with my love for photography, I began to compile visual data sets which eventually would lead to the creation of my otherworldly artwork." Lela Amparo
Utilising machine learning and generative practices, both the visual and audio components of "Illuminating the Arctic Night" capture the raw, and often unforgiving coldness that engulfs Scandinavia in the winter months. Through this darkness, Lela found inspiration from the often sporadic movements of the northern lights but also the frozen arctic sunsets that are essentially fleeting moments in the grand scheme of things. Last winter, Lela spent time in a remote village in Norway, finding comfort and solace in the quietness of everything. It was during this trip that Lela began to push herself to explore more generative audio practices and stop working within a grid, framework or other form of structure. Through this exercise, Lela was able to create music that was intimated one second and relentless the next - capturing the entire spectrum of her emotions and feelings in life at that moment in time.
After creating this audio, Lela turned to the visuals, pairing the new presentation with her work of the northern lights. Together, they capture what can feel or look intense but is rather quite delicate in the whole of things.

ABOUT HAMBLEDON VINEYARD
Founded in 1952, Hambledon Vineyard is the first and oldest commercial vineyard in the UK. It is also considered today as one of England's most forward-thinking, innovative & respected wineries.
Anna & Ian Kellett, its owners, take no shortcuts when it comes to quality: “As a British, family-run winery, we believe that our particular piece of English soil has something so special to give that we can exceed the quality of the world’s finest bubbles. We grow all of our own grapes in the Hampshire village of Hambledon, where the upper cretaceous chalk soils and cool climate are ideal for growing fine, lean Chardonnay – the backbone of world-class fizz. We hold ourselves to the highest standards, both ourselves and our fantastic team of passionate people.”
A visit to the vineyard is without a doubt one of the most British experiences one can get, with Hambledon being both the heart of the Finest English Fizz and the cradle of cricket. Their team welcomes visitors and clients all year long for a day among the vines, a tasting experience or a WSET training course.
