Gamma Ray is a heavy metal band from Hamburg, northern Germany, founded and frontedby Kai Hansen after his departure from the German power metal band Helloween. BesidesDirk Schlächter (bass), Henjo Richter (guitar), Michael Ehré (drums) and Frank Beck (vocals),he is the band’s lead vocalist, guitarist and chief songwriter. Between 1990 and 2015,GammaRay recorded eleven studio albums. The expressive power of the band’s music isreflected in their energetic live shows. There’s hardly a renowned metal festival whereGammaRay haven’t rocked the crowds, hardly an international magazine which hasn’tfeatured at least one GammaRay title story. For more than thirty years now, this band hasdelivered impressive statements of their own musical philosophy.
