Haydn's first major set of string quartets was published with a big sun on the title page - and indeed these works would prove to be the dawn of the String Quartet genre as we know it. Diderot String Quartet travels back in time to go toe-to-toe with three of these six masterworks — later nicknamed the "Sun" quartets — which continue to delight with their groundbreaking adventurousness and excellent humor.
