A visit to the doctor for a rash on his forearm resulted in the shocking diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Mason spent the following 5 weeks at CHOP undergoing aggressive treatment, followed by a one week respite at home. He is now back at CHOP for his second round of another intensive 4 week treatment. A fierce competitor on and off the field, Mason spent his formative years battling it out on the gridiron as a Penn Manor comet and on the ice as a Central Penn Panther.
