RunTOBeer is free and will continue to be that way.
Imperial Membership, however, offers many extras for those who want more running and beer experiences.
The RunTOBeer Imperial Membership for 2025 will initially be limited to 50 runners. These spots will be open for registration until the end of December or until they are filled.
Cost = $60, for all of 2025 (January to December) and includes the following:
Welcome Package: A small welcome package for new Imperial Members including limited-edition RunTOBeer buttons, coasters and stickers [available for pick-up at a RunTOBeer event]
Front Of Line Access: First access to our events. You'll have approximately 24 hours advance access to the online registration before it opens up to the public. [Note: For joint or special events sponsored by another group (such as, tune-up runs with Canada Running Series), where we don't handle registration, there's no guarantee you'll have first access).
RunTOBeer Merchandise: A minimum of 10% discount on new orders of RunTOBeer-branded technical and casual clothing, and accessories. This year, we are planning to release an array of merchandise options that may include running hats, running shirts, hoodies and more!
Unique Experiences: Last year we had two brewmaster experiences (at Granite Brewery and GLB) where Imperial Members could join a brewing team to make special RunTOBeer collaborative beers. These experiences typically go for hundreds of dollars at charity auctions.
Race Discounts: Throughout the year, we’ll get discounts for races, and sometimes FREE race entries - and we will pass them on to you first. This includes MERIThon, of course. Imperial Members will again save $5 on race entry in 2025.
Other Discounts: Throughout the year, we will be working on securing other discounts for apparel, fitness, and with breweries/brewpubs, etc. You will get first access, and often the ONLY access to all of those (or higher discounts than available to other members)!
About the Name
In the beer world, the term Imperial implies a bigger, stronger version of a style. We're borrowing from that, not to imply that Imperial members have any elite status when it comes to our events -- there will be no Imperial badges or secret handshakes -- just the opportunity to participate in more beer and running events outside of regular RUNTOBEER activities.
Questions & Answers about Imperial Membership
Q: How will the “Front of the Line” access to RunTOBeer events work?
A: In order to gain early access to our events, we will be utilizing a special “Imperial Members Only” channel on Slack. In the Slack #Imperial_Members channel, the event details will be sent to you first, along with the sign-up link on Universe. You will have 24 hours to register before the event goest live to the public. Same goes for other announcements about discounts, RTB merchandise, special events, etc. This is also an opportunity for you to meet and get to know other Imperial Members!
[Note: If you are not familiar with Slack, it is a free communication and messaging app available for mobile devices and desktops. In order to access Front of the Line, you will need to download Slack and create an account.]
Q: How do I sign-up to be an Imperial Member?
A: Click on Register. Complete the sign-up (like you normally would for one of our runs). If you are one of the first 50 people to sign up, you will receive an email confirmation within 48 hours. Once you have received your email confirmation, you will have 48 hours to secure your spot with an e-transfer of $60 to: cheers@runtobeer.ca
If you’re not one of the first 50, you can join the waitlist (provide your email address!) and will be notified if additional spots become available.
If you receive an email confirmation to become an Imperial Member, but we do not receive the $60 e-transfer within 48 hours, we will release your spot to the next person on the waitlist.
