Lab Cab Presents: Improv for Youth with Bruce Hunter In this free workshop for youth aged 13-18 actor, writer, director, producer, puppeteer and master of improv Bruce Hunter will teach essential techniques and skills that every aspiring improv artist needs to know. This class will focus on fun, teamwork and developing ideas through improvisation. We will be concentrating on listening skills and working in collaboration with others to construct interesting material. This workshop will run for three hours on Wednesday March 12, from 3:00 - 6:00 pm and will take place at the Parkdale Branch Public Library. The workshop is completely free and space is limited. More about Bruce Hunter Not only has Bruce starred in dozens of films, television and theatre performances, he has over 26 years of improv teaching experience. His extensive acting credits include everything from "Good Will Hunting" to "Mean Girls" to "Degrassi: The Next Generation" and "Rookie Blue". Bruce has taught his improv methods and techniques to thousands of students throughout his career in a variety of settings, which include Second City, Humber College, and as a guest lecturer at both the University of Toronto and Ryerson University. In addition, Bruce is a founding member of the Illustrated Men, an improv-comedy troupe that has been making audiences laugh for over 25 years! The Lab Cab Presents Workshop Series The Lab Cab Presents workshop series is a division of the Lab Cab Festival and each workshop will offer participants a chance to develop a new skill or build on previous knowledge. These workshops are open to anyone and celebrate a wide variety of artistic methods and mediums. They are completely free for all to attend. Following the model of the festival the workshops will happen in different venues throughout the Parkdale neighbourhood.
