Europe's leading sci-tech and innovation event, Inspirefest, is going on the road, and we're heading to Berlin! Come meet the team, hear from Inspirefest speakers past and future, and get a sneak preview ahead of our annual conference and festival in Dublin, June 2018.
At Inspirefest we're all about great content, and the Berlin gathering will be no exception. The theme at the Berlin Salon will be: The Human Face of Artificial Intelligence. You will hear from award-winning Inspirefest founder, Ann O’Dea (Ireland), founder of HATCH Analytics, Monica Parker (UK), Global VP of SAP.iO Fund & Foundry Alexa Gorman (Germany) and CEO of RefineAI, Inc., Bharat Krish.
Michael Collins, Ireland’s Ambassador to Germany will open proceedings for the evening.
Leaders and influencers from the science, tech, arts, media and business communities will be joining us for a relaxed, inspiring and sociable evening, with tasty canapés and refreshments served, in the Mendelssohn Remise, Jägerstraße 51, 10117, hosted by the Embassy of Ireland.

SALON SPEAKERS:
Ann O'Dea is co-founder of Silicon Republic, the award-winning online news service for all things science, technology and innovation, and founder of Inspirefest, the unique science, technology, design and arts festival that celebrates diversity and inclusion in STEM every summer in Dublin. She has won multiple awards for her role in championing women and minorites, including a Fellowship from the Irish Computer Society, Irish Tatler's ‘Media Woman of the Year’, and the Women Mean Business award for Empowering Women. She is the first woman to be inducted into the Irish Internet Association’s Hall of Fame.
Monica Parker is the founder of HATCH Analytics. Monica brings to the table a vast knowledge of navigating and communicating organisational change. An international speaker and presenter, she is a regular blogger for the Huffington Post and has appeared on BBC Worldwide as an authority on workplace strategy. Monica studied design at the University of Miami and received her MSc (Distinction) in Sustainable Management from Queens University Belfast with a specialism in predictive behaviour in the workplace. Previous clients have include most of the FTSE 100. As well as hyper-growth tech such as LinkedIn Goggle and Microsoft. Her role at HATCH is to help clients challenge their notion of the status quo, and see the performance benefits of workplace transformation.
Alexa Gorman is Global VP of the SAP.iO Fund and Foundry in Berlin and responsible for startup investments as well as leading the Berlin SAP.iO Foundry, she has 18+ years of experience in business development and strategy in software. The SAP.iO fund invests in early stage startups that can leverage SAP APIs, data sets, business content and/or platform technologies. The SAP.iO Foundry is a global network of accelerators providing deep, programmatic mentorships to startups. The SAP.iO Berlin Foundry is focused on Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence in partnership with Techstars.
Bharat Krish is the CEO of RefineAI, Inc. RefineAI which is backed by SAP and Techstars leverages AI to help brands test their videos in real-time for audience engagement. Bharat is building his company with the vision of helping video content creators build highly engaging content that is also culturally sensitive. Prior to RefineAI, he was the CEO of a software consulting firm called Takt Digital. He also held executive roles at HBO Latin America and NBC Universal building large organizations and projects from the ground up. While at HBO he launched online video services such as HBO GO, Cinemax GO, Sony, A&E, Syfy and Universal Studio and History channels across Latin America, Brazil, and the Caribbean. While at NBC Universal he was instrumental in launching the Emmy award-winning NBCOlympics.com for the Beijing Summer Olympics and for the Vancouver Winter Olympics.
Michael Collins became Ireland’s Ambassador to Germany in August 2013. Prior to arriving in Berlin, Ambassador Collins served for six years as Ireland’s Ambassador to the United States thus becoming the longest serving Ambassador of Ireland to occupy this position in the modern era. Prior to his Washington appointment, Ambassador Collins worked for six years, on secondment from the Department of Foreign Affairs, as Second Secretary-General at the Department of the Taoiseach (Prime Minister of Ireland). In that capacity he worked closely with the then Taoiseach, Prime Minister Blair and the Northern Ireland political parties on the Northern Ireland peace process. Ambassador Collins previously served as Ireland’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia from 1995-1999, during which time he was also Ireland’s Ambassador to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Emirates, and prior to that as Ambassador of Ireland to the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
