Dive into the world of Botanical Art in this outdoor drawing class with guest teacher, Janette Dragvold! Participants will learn basic drawing techniques, go for a walk to gather inspiration, and have the chance to explore botanical art creations on their own.
Introduction to Botanical Art will take place in and around Sylvan Park in Lanesboro, MN on June 30th from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. Participants should plan to meet at the Gazebo. In the event of inclement weather, this class will take place indoors at the St. Mane Theatre Upstairs Studio, with the help of houseplants and floral arrangements.
Lanesboro Arts will provide all necessary materials, but participants are encouraged to bring their own sketchbooks or journals if they so desire.
This class is great for anyone interested in getting in touch with nature, refining their drawing skills, or even starting a nature journal (recommended for ages 12 and up). Whether you’re just interested in improving your drawing skills or looking for something to do as a family, this multigeneration-friendly outdoor class is a great opportunity to unite your love for art and for the great outdoors.
Janette Dragvold is a self-taught artist who has lived in Lanesboro all her life. She loves being outside and observing nature. Janette will demonstrate botanical drawing fundamentals, and help hone participant’s eyes to pull out all the fascinating details that make for great botanical art.
