The Acme Corporation, Baltimore's premier experimental theatre company, and The Voxel, a new performance laboratory and incubator, are teaming up to present a free introductory workshop in the Margolis Method this August. Taught by Jarod Hanson (Lead Margolis Faculty), the class will meet once a week on Monday evenings for four weeks. Classes are free and open to the public (with advanced registration). The work will be cumulative; we highly recommend attending all 4 classes. No prior experience necessary.
Margolis Method merges vocal and physical expression and brings together the skill sets of the actor, director, and playwright. Explore an embodied approach to creation that offers practicable exercises to hone your craft as a storyteller. This series will introduce solo and ensemble structures as well as tools for both devised and pre-scripted work. Unleash your creativity in a dynamic, challenging yet supportive environment that will leave you inspired, energized, and empowered.
Covid safety information
We will use the following metrics to decide whether masks are optional or mandatory for each class:
Masks are mandatory for all of the classes unless both the 7-day testing positivity rate for Baltimore City is below 5% and the daily average of new cases is below 50. If both of those conditions are met then masks will become optional, and we encourage you to wear one if that is how you are most comfortable.
