We are delighted to announce that our next workshop will be held on Friday 20 September 2024 at University House, University of Leeds, Cromer Terrace, Leeds LS2 9JT.
Our speaker is Orla Austin, Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Spire Methley Park Hospital in Leeds[MH1] . Her specialist interest and expertise are all aspects of breast and chest wall surgery, including post-cancer breast reconstruction, congenital breast malformation, burned breast/chest wall reconstruction, gynaecomastia and female to male “top surgery”. Miss Austin graduated from University College Dublin in 1990 and qualified as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland after four years of training in general surgery. Awards include the Registrar’s Prize for surgical research and Specialist Fellowship in Plastic Surgery.
As usual, the day will consist of two presentations by our speaker, followed by language workshop groups which will focus on terminology and translation of pre-selected journal articles, with the opportunity to ask the speaker any questions.
Schedule:

11:00-13:00 - Talk 1: TOPIC TBC
13:00-14:00 - Lunch

This will be a hybrid event and will be streaming the two speaker presentations via Zoom. Unfortunately it is not logistically or practically feasible to include the language groups as a remote option.
In person ticket includes: In-person attendance at the venue, talks & language groups, refreshments & lunch.
Remote ticket includes: Access to Zoom livestream of the two talks and opportunity to submit questions during the talks.
The talks will be recorded and recordings shared with network members after the event.
We welcome all Network members at workshops: we aim to cater for all language combinations provided that we receive at least 3 expressions of interest for a particular language combination/direction. Smaller groups become unworkable if someone fails to show on the day.
Reminder: Up to five Network Bursaries will be available for Network members to attend this event
(course fee + up to 60% of (most economical) travel costs).
Remember that all our workshops (including the accompanying costs of attending them) are tax-deductible as they constitute training and qualify as CPD.
