At Ivey Social Impact Club (SIC), we are firm believers that sustainability is relevant to any career in business. Our 2023 conference, Roots, will cater to everyone curious about environmental, social, governance (ESG) and how it can be leveraged to drive positive impact in their personal lives and career. Participating at Roots will offer you a competitive edge in the workplace by developing your sustainability toolkit and branching your network by tapping into global experts and entrepreneurs, including recent graduates and senior sustainability specialists. What makes Roots unique from other conferences is the ability to choose your own trail. Do you prefer to deep dive into sustainable finance? Stick to the basics and learn ESG 101? Or relax while engaging in the intricacies of why your house plants are dying? You decide – there is something for everyone at all levels of experience. This is where you will ingrain your own roots and establish a strong foundation for decades to come. Your ticket also includes a catered lunch, attendee gift bag, and cocktails! Dress code is business casual. Among other dominant players in sustainability, you will get to meet the inventor of the modern stakeholder theory, Dr. Edward Freeman.
