JIM BEARD and JON HERINGTONJim Beard and Jon Herington will present an evening of eclecticinstrumental music performed on piano and guitar. The two veterans of theacclaimed Steely Dan rhythm section have collaborated on many projectsthrough the years in addition to each other's individual albums, includingthe jazz supergroup Chroma and releases by Bill Evans, Michael Brecker,Randy Brecker, and more. In addition to their longstanding contributionsto Steely Dan, Jim brings his deep experience with a long list of theworld's best modern music-makers, including Wayne Shorter, Pat Metheny,John McLaughlin, John Scofield, and Mike Stern, and Jon brings theexperience of his many years as a supporting guitarist for Boz Scaggs,Madeleine Peyroux, Donald Fagen, Bette Midler, the late Phoebe Snow, andothers.The duo will perform a collection of music that includes jazz standards,pop classics, and selected tunes from their own releases. Listeners canexpect the unexpected and will be treated to fresh approaches to songs byluminaries such as Weather Report, The Beatles, The Beach Boys, and SteelyDan.
