Jo-AMI presents "Re(KNIT)wear & care".
"Re(KNIT)wear & care" encourages participants to bring along preloved piece(s) of knitwear that are in need of some TLC. Jolene from Jo-AMI will work with you to design and produce a reimagined unique piece of knitwear that you will want to wear over and over! Whether that's turning a jumper into a vest or changing the neckline on the existing jumper by adding a different coloured collar, you will leave with a customised piece of knit with a Jo-AMI touch.
Get creative and increase that products life cycle by injecting some life and love back into your once fav knitted piece. You will learn construction and design skills alongside celebrating heritage that is within the Scottish knitwear industry - one of Jo-AMI's key values.
You will also learn some key tips from Jolene on the best way to care for your knitwear and increase its longevity.
Jo-AMI will supply different coloured ribs that can be attached as neck collars or cuffs and different styles of Jo-AMI patches that could change the look of a piece.
This event will be held in the gallery space within the Wasps, Dundee building and will be accompanied by a Jo-AMI studio tour. Jo-AMI would love to capture everyone with their new reinvented pieces of knitwear, by documenting all the makes and transformations.
