John’s Toast Live presents An Evening with Harry Hudson is the second installment of a series of fundraising events dedicated to Mental Health Awareness. The proceeds of this event will be used to develop an educational platform that will target 8th-10th graders in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools system with the goal of the curriculum’s implementation in early 2019.
John’s Toast partners with Pivotal Moments, an official 501(C)3, and every ticket includes an automatic donation to the charity.
Anxiety and depression are often left undiagnosed and it’s the goal of John’s Toast Live and Pivotal Moments to help those in need of assistance to understand that support and educational platforms exist for their benefit. The National Alliance on Mental Illness notes that 1 in 5 people in the U.S. experiences some form of mental illness, and 50-percent of those cases develop by age 14. There is a need to understand the facts, myths and potential warning signs of mental distress. It’s not only those who might struggle that need assistance. It’s the support systems as well. It’s our goal to help provide support for those in need starting at a young age.
