Join us, Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales, Saturday, October 1st at 2:14pm for our portion of the worldwide celebration in lambic and sour that is Brasserie Cantillon's Zwanze Day. Only 60 locations around the globe were chosen to recieve a keg of sour beer's white whale, so what better place than Dexter, Michigan? There will only 500 tickets available to Zwanze Day. Of which only 100 will guarantee a pour of Cantillon's Zwane beer. With each ticket you receive a commemorative Zwanze tasting glass and 10 drink tokens. V.I.P tickets will guarantee pours of Cantillon's Zwanze beer from 3 - 4 pm. After 4 pm general admission ticket holders will have the ability to try the Zwanze beer until the keg kicks. General Admission tickets cost $100 and do not guarantee a pour of Cantillon's Zwanze beer. Tickets for General Admission will be limited to 4 tickets per purchase. V.I.P Zwanze Tickets cost $125 and guarantee a pour of Cantillon's Zwanze beer from 3 - 4 pm. V.I.P ticket holders will not be refunded if they miss the 3 - 4 pm Zwanze pouring time. Tickets for V.I.P Zwanze tickets will be limited to 2 per purchase. Zwanze in the Brussels dialect refers to a semi-sarcastic style of humor. That sense of humor is often reflected in the experimental nature of Cantillon's beers, which are not always the most traditional of lambics. Zwanze often finds its way into our beers at Jolly Pumpkin as well, which has led to this perfect of sour storms. A cloud of sourcumulonimbus has begun to gather in Dexter, Michigan. But instead of umbrellas and rain boots all you will need is a glass. Okay, you might need an umbrella and rain boots, this event will go on rain or shine. Beyond the Zwanze beer we will have the following offerings from Cantillon: Gueze, Kriek, Mamouche, Iris Grand Cru. In addition we have invited a number of our out of state brewing friends to join us for this day of sour days. All of that has us feeling pretty good, and when you are feeling good you want to help spread that feeling. That's why we partnered with the Detroit non-profit Feelgood Tap. If you have spent any time in craft beer breweries and bars over the last year you will most likely recognize the name. Feelgood Tap raises funds to support local and regional nonprofits throughout Michigan with a focus on community, culture, and wellness. Their recognizable tap handles grace dozens of bars throughout the state and every beer sold from that tap raises $1 for other Michigan based non-profits.
