Description
Join us at North Wind Manor on July 16 at 7:30 PM for a night with Amy Baik Lee.
Many of us carry vivid memories of moments and places that have become lost and forgotten to the world over the years. “I remember,” we say, tasting both a particular goodness we once encountered and the bittersweetness of the fact that we cannot return to it. We know that God remembers these settings and experiences with us, and that He grieves with us on our mortals’ road through time. But could there be more? Retracing her steps through a country she thought she’d left behind, Amy will explore the notion that the past moments and places we hold dear have a role to play in the new creation.
Amy Baik Lee is the author of This Homeward Ache and a contributor to Douglas Kaine McKelvey’s Every Moment Holy, Vol. III, Matthew Clark’s Only the Lover Sings, and Leslie Bustard’s Wild Things and Castles in the Sky. Her cross-cultural childhood gave her a love for a wide variety of musical and storytelling forms; she grew up to study English literature at the University of Virginia and still “does voices” when she reads aloud. These days she has the joy of sharing words through Cultivating Magazine, the Rabbit Room, and the Anselm Society. She writes at a desk that looks out on a small cottage garden in Colorado, usually surrounded by her husband’s woodworking projects, her two daughters’ creative works, and patient cups of rooibos tea.
