Design and paint your very own masterpiece on canvas, inspired by the Lanesboro Burros with artist and educator Marlene Maloney!
Students ages 10-14 will learn techniques for painting with acrylics while exploring teh expressive qualities of shape, color, and line in these multicolored burro paintings. The class will take place at 1:00 pm on June 9th in the Upstairs Studio of the St. Mane Theatre.
Students will be using acrylic paint on an 8” x 8” canvas frame. Acrylic paints are water-based and offer opacity (meaning you can paint right over your mistakes!). This makes this medium especially great for beginners. All supplies are included with the registration fee.
Marlene Maloney is a former graphic artist and middle school art teacher from Minneapolis. Since retirement, she’s been enjoying her own creative life working with pastels, watercolors and acrylics. Her style is still evolving and loosening up with more expressive colors and brushstrokes. Marlene has painted many subjects but looks mostly to nature for inspiration. She loves Lanesboro and enjoys working with people and hopes to teach and inspire creativity in this community!
