Help Not Handcuffs, Inc invites all our friends and friends of friends to our meet, greet and socialize fundraiser being held on Saturday, October 28th in Asbury Park, NJ, 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Join us for refreshments, light snacks and some engaging conversation. All donations are welcome and greatly appreciated. Thank you for supporting our mission!
Our mission is to advocate for drug policies and other social issues that prioritize the health and well being of people, families and communities.
Our work is done through community education and engagement. This ranges from community events including presentations at forums and educational institutions as well as advocating the range of governmental bodies from local to global.
Some of our successes include:
· Overdose Prevention – We Accelerated the implementation of the Overdose Prevention Act in New Jersey allowing first responders to carry the opioid overdose antidote Naloxone/Narcan.
· Global Drug Policy - We were invited to the United Nations General Assembly Special Session on Drug Policy in New York City where we brought our message to a global audience of leaders.
· Recovery Month Celebration – Each year we hold statewide events to eliminate the stigma associated with drug use and substance use disorders and highlight the many non-punitive ways for people in these circumstances to improve their health.
Help Not Handcuffs, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit corporation. Our supporters volunteer their time, energy and talents to accomplish our mission.
