To move forwards, we have to branch outside our echo chamber and learn from each other. Misinformation in Beauty: how to not be a part of the problem. About our panelists:
Dr Anke Ginzburg completed her PhD specializing in analytical pharmaceutical chemistry, in collaboration with the Nivea Skin Research institute. She has had many roles throughout her career; including active ingredient extraction/testing, quality assurance, formulation development, and scientific communication management - with the Body Shop in NYC and then Coty in London. She’s an active volunteer with the Society of Cosmetic Science and a visiting lecturer at UAL (Master of cosmetic science at London College of Fashion) and the University of Applied Sciences in OStwestfalen-Lippe in Germany.

Caroline Hirons, crowned the most powerful woman in beauty this year, is an esthetician by trade, author and consultant. She was first qualified in CIBTAC (Aesthetics) at the original Steiner School in Wardour Street, Central London, and completed post-graduate studies in France with Biologique Recherche, among others. She’s been in the cosmetics industry for 35 years, and working as a consultant to brands for the past 15 years, advising brands on the route into the market, where they should be selling and why.

Dr Anjali Mahto is a London trained consultant dermatologist and author of The Skincare Bible. She is spokesperson for the UK’s largest skin charity, the British Skin Foundation, and an executive committee member of the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group. Her work bridges the gap between traditional medical dermatology, beauty and cosmetic medicine. Her mission is to make trusted and reliable skin information accessible alongside improving science literacy and responsible influencing.

James Welsh is a skincare enthusiast that not only reviews and tests skin and haircare products, he also takes a deeper dive into those products, looking at ingredients and exploring problem areas for viewers helping to educate his audience on their purchases. Previously a stylist who worked for ASOS and Topman, James is your go to guy for personal grooming and self-care advice for both men and women. Alongside his social media channels James also has a podcast he hosts with his brother Robert called “The Double Cleanse”.
