Advanced Scenework with Andy Livengood
Great scenes are the building blocks of great longforms. Is there a way to create deeper, more impactful scenes without sacrificing the comedy? Students who take this class will learn techniques to do just that! Students will learn how to create scenes that are worth calling back, characters that are three dimensional, and longforms that deliver both comedically and theatrically. Workshop participants will get scene specific feedback that can be used in all their performances.
Andy Livengood
Andy Livengood wandered into an improv theatre to see a friend’s show and became hooked for life. He is a graduate of the Theatre 99 training program (Charleston, SC) and has studied at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre (NY) and The Annoyance Theatre (Chicago).
For over a decade he regularly performed and taught at Theatre 99. He was voted Charleston’s Best Comic and has written for the sketch comedy groups Maximum Brain Squad and This is Chucktown. His one man show, The Christmas will be Televised, was voted Best Play in Charleston in 2011 and has been performed in theaters all over the south east.
