Scarborough Arts is thrilled to present NO VACANCY, an exhibition that examines the vibrant history of Kingston Road’s once-bustling motel strip and the evolving use of the seemingly desolate motel spaces today. Through archival photographs paired with contemporary artworks and a participatory installation, NO VACANCY tells the stories of places and the people left behind by neighbourhood gentrification and evolution. Join us at the opening reception for an evening of art, architecture, and history over music and refreshments. At this event, artist and Terra Incognita Collective's Alexandra Simpson also leads a mask-making workshop open to all ages. No Vacancy is curated by Alyssa Fearon and is presented in partnership with Myseum of Toronto and the Scarborough Archives as part of Myseum of Toronto's Myseum Intersections 2017.
