The Local Show featuring Andrew Peterson, The Arcadian Wild, Buddy Greene, Jeff Taylor, and Ron Block
The Local Show is the Rabbit Room's ongoing songwriters' round show. Previously held at The Well Coffeehouse, we are now pleased to present the concert live from North Wind Manor! Each show features a new line-up of some of Nashville's best singers and songwriters. But what makes the Local Show special is that the players aren't just great musicians, they are great friends. The show is one way in which we incarnate the Rabbit Room community, and you're invited to join the fun.
Andrew Peterson
Andrew Peterson is a singer-songwriter and author. Andrew has released more than ten records over the past twenty years, earning him a reputation for songs that connect with his listeners in ways equally powerful, poetic, and intimate. As an author, Andrew’s books include the four volumes of the award-winning Wingfeather Saga, released in collectible hardcover editions through Random House in 2020, and his creative memoir, Adorning the Dark, released in 2019 through B&H Publishing.
The Arcadian Wild
Led by songwriters Isaac Horn (guitar) and Lincoln Mick (mandolin), and with the support of other gifted musicians, The Arcadian Wild confidently inhabits and explores an intersection of genre, blending the traditional with the contemporary in order to create a unique acoustic sound that is simultaneously unified and diverse. With one foot planted firmly in choral and formal vocal music, and the other in progressive folk and bluegrass, the band offers up songs of invitation: calls to come and see, to find refuge and rest, or to journey and wonder.
Buddy Greene
Singer, songwriter, and harmonica extraordinaire Buddy Greene has too many career highlights to count. Touring as a featured performer with Bill and Gloria Gaither, writing the modern Christmas classic “Mary Did You Know,” and recording with the likes of Jerry Reed, Charlie Peacock, Sara Groves, Keith and Kristyn Getty, just to name a few. Buddy’s latest project, Looking Back, provides a strong summary statement of Buddy’s journey as a Christian, songwriter, instrumentalist, and skillful interpreter of songs. As of 2021, Buddy also serves on the board of the Rabbit Room.
Jeff Taylor
Jeff Taylor has a number of musical irons in the fire, most of them based in Nashville. He's released a handful of solo piano recordings on a local label. He plays accordion for the Time Jumpers, a Western swing group. He has appeared regularly at the Grand Ole Opry. As a soloist, he has played accordion with the Nashville Symphony Orchestra. Jeff is a longtime friend of the Rabbit Room and a Local Show veteran.
Ron Block
Winner of 147 Grammys (or so), Ron Block is the banjo-ninja portion of Alison Kraus and Union Station. When he's not laying down a bluegrass-style martial-arts whoopin' on audiences around the world, he's taking care of his donkey named "Trash" and keeping himself busy by being one of the most well-read and thoughtful people we know.
