Sheridan Bruins Toastmasters welcomes former and current students of Sheridan College to visit and join our club.
On Saturday the theme is Facing Realities. Academic approach to leadership can provide a very good theoretical base but leadership is a practice. At Toastmasters Leadership is a part of the educational program and because Toastmasters is a practice based discipline, it provides our students an opportunity to reframe situations through a "leader" lens. The value of leadership is knowing what to do when we do not know what to do - and therefore uncertainty and complexity are a part of any leadership challenge. Facing Realities is facing the reality of being a student leader and the messy aspect of leadership and management, that is the true practice of leadership development.
